Diesel prices rise, but still down y/y

C.H. Robinson diesel fuel freight market update

Retail diesel's national U.S. average price per gallon of $3.63 in January is up from $3.49 in December but still lower than the $3.84 average from January 2024.

The sequential change in diesel is the largest increase from the prior month since February 2024, when there was also devastating winter weather that created disruption to supply chains. Despite this large increase month over month, this marks the 23rd consecutive month of y/y decreases in fuel.
